Prefectural governor’s office (former kinban-yoriki working quarters)

This was the working quarters for kinban-yoriki officials working at the Hyogo Administrative Office, and is thought to have been used as the prefectural governor’s office later on. Kinban-yoriki officials also came from the Osaka Magistrate’s Office on monthly rotations, and were tasked with administration and commanding the lower-ranked doshin officials to maintain peace and order in local towns. Yoriki were the highest ranking officials at the Administrative Office, and it is this room that was used as an office for the highest ranking individual in the prefecture, the prefectural governor. The first prefectural governor to use this room as an office was a young, 26-year-old Ito Shunsuke who later became known as Ito Hirobumi.
